No where in the world will you find a greater variety of sport fishing than in Alaska's Cook Inlet drainage's. Prince William Sound and Cook Inlet drainage's offer five species of salmon; King, Sockeye, Chum, Pink and Silver Salmon with six species of fresh water fish; Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden, Arctic Char, and Northern Pike. Cook Inlet also offers some of the best Halibut fishing in the world. The waters we fish in vary in size from large rivers to tiny streams and everything in between. With the unique variety of waters to fish in, both spin and fly fisherman will find our waters challenging for the advanced anglers yet accommodating for the novice. Above all, our fishermen catch a lot of fish and enjoy the sport doing so.

Each day's fishing assignments are scheduled the evening before. Where we fish each day depends upon the fishermen's preference. Breakfast is served at 7:00 am, airplanes and guides are ready to depart shortly thereafter. We return to the Lodge each evening between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm. Dinner is served at approximately 7:00 pm.

Equipment

Airplanes- We own and operate our float and wheel equipped aircraft. Cessna 206, DeHavilland Beaver and Piper Super Cub are utilized.

Boats- We keep boats and motors (some jet equipped) on several different rivers and lakes. The use of these boats allows our guides the mobility needed to provide our fishermen with the best fishing available. Guests are also welcome to fish at the lodge.

Tackle

When your fishing trip with Alaska Lakeside Lodge has been confirmed we will send you a "what to bring" list covering suggested clothing, tackle, etc. We have a large inventory of lures and flies available at the lodge. We do not furnish fly fishing rods and reels or hip waders. We do have an inventory of rods and reels along with hip waders for our guests to use on a loaner basis in case of breakage, equipment failure or lost luggage.

Catch & Release

In the spirit of conservation and necessity we encourage catch & release of our fresh water species of fish. We do allow and promote our guest to keep some Salmon and all Halibut. We will filet, wrap, package and freeze your Salmon & Halibut to take home with you.

Our guests come to Alaska to experience the finest fishing in the world. We are in the sport fishing business to provide that service, but we do not want your Alaskan experience to stop with merely great fishing. We are committed to the extras that will add that special touch to your stay with us. Whether that means flying extra miles to show you grizzly bears, moose and sheep or having our Gourmet chef cook your fish is to have every guest leave Alaska Lakeside Lodge totally satisfied and with the desire to return to our special angling paradise!
